SIGN/VIEW OUR GUESTBOOKNew Beginnings Mastiffs started when we acquired our first Old English Mastiff as a puppy. We both LOVE large dogs and had done quite a bit of research in determining which breed might best suit our home and our personalities. We had narrowed our choices to 3 but when we went to a dog show to see the breeds in person, it was LOVE at first sight with the Mastiff! We had no intentions of showing but only wanted a nice sound pet. The only female left in a litter we saw was an apricot brindle which was perfect as I love the brindles. Onyx turned out to be the best girl and fulfilled all our dreams as she was a wild child who loved to play, was a very loving girl and her tail NEVER stopped wagging. Ony’s breeder told us about a puppy match near us so we took Onyx and were bitten by the show energy. Ch. Applecreek’s Ebony Onyx, CD, CGC was owner handled as the other girls have been. We lost Onyx to dilated cardiomyopathy at the very young age of 7 ½ years. We breed very rarely and when we do, we are very selective in the people who get one of our babies. We always take puppies back, no matter what age or why. Our contract states that any puppy bred by us must be returned to us, if for whatever reason you are unable to keep it. You not only purchase a puppy from us but have a relationship with us. You are regarded as family. We are always available for questions or just to talk dogs.
We belong to the Mastiff Club of America as well as
Pacific Southwest Mastiff Club and Phoenix Field Obedience Club. Karen
has served on the board of PSMC a number of years. We believe in titles on
our dogs on “both ends”. Curry and Onyx both had Championships as well as
CD and CGCs. Spice already has her CD and CGC and Championship. Dax, well Dax is just the resident
princess,
although she does have her CGC.
